HijackFive in the LondonPaper
HijackFive hit the London’s free newspaper, thelondonpaper last week which inspired an overwhelming response. I have been inundated with e-mails from members of the public, from production companies who are wanting to get involved and from more media who want to tell the story of my mission to hijackfive!
It has taken me a few days and my weekend to plough through the emails in my inbox, but, oeverall this has inspired me in my belief that there is a memeber of the public who would make an interesting TV Show…
Somehow, I feel, the mission is about to hit army style levels and tactics!
Like many others I watched Noel’s HQ, live on Sky One, on Saturday night in awe at the events that had unfolded. Noel’s HQ is a programme designed to “inspire people to make a better Britiain” encouraging the public to contact the show about issues that are affecting them, issues that need changing.
Last week 25% of the correspondence from the British public was about one man, Joe Townsend, a 20 year old who stepped on a mine in Afghanistan and lost both of his legs. Joe’s grandparents wanted to build him a specially equipped bungalow in their own grounds but the local council objected.
When the Press Officer of the local council stated that he does not respond to “entertainment shows”, live on air, Noel gets incredibly passionate, with very strong effects.
No doubt, as a result, ratings for this show will soar and some may be skeptical, thats irrelevant. Noel has made a statement and as a result the Nation is getting behind them with a facebook group dedicated to the support of Joe becoming utterly bombarded. Check out the facebook group: Support Joe to get his bungalow
This is an incredible example of individuals, on facebook, who were already getting behind this story, Noel then features the story in order to take it further, to a mass audience. This is “crowd supporting” meets media to take the story to a National level.
I will be watching, in anticipation to see how this story unfolds and I will equally do my bit, as requested on Joe’s facebook group. I urge you to do the same.
